....meanwhile, back at Red River Climbing, someone was about to concoct a witty reply to 88Keys' post but was interrupted by a nasty turtle head a pokin' out.....

I climbed a tree on the weekend, on top rope. I'm devolving!

It was super scary, I thought that my feet were going to break off for sure.

Basically, I don't want to be so small minded that the only self-analysis I am capable of is to view myself as better than or lesser than someone else. Anytime I compare myself to someone else, I lose. I either feel terrible about myself because I cannot measure up or I feel superior, which is illusory at best.

Yeah it was pretty funny. I was belaying him and my 160-lb. nephew (the kid is 15 and HUGE) had to hold onto me so I didn't go flying out after him. He he he. All kinds of drama.

I was back cleaning a route and swung out-just missing the trunk of a tree, but my rope hooked over a branch about 15 feet up.
Just missed getting punjied on old dried out branches.
Good thing Spragwa's nephew was there to provide some extra support!

You know they will recind your hippie status if you break that branch off on that tree. You've got to preserve the "natural" enviroment.

I don't think hippie ever really applied to me-although I guess I was a tree hugger for a bit!
