California boy, 13, becomes youngest person to climb Everest

Proves my theory. Mountaineering is easy if you have enough money, wonder if he could redpoint Moonbeam and Sunshine in the same week without a fixed line and oxygen ?

Mountaineering is not easy. Clipping bolts less than a mile from your car in beautiful weather is easy... That kid could probably kick your ass.

I've seen little boys and girls climb 5.13. hard sport climbing must be easy.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll ever possess the skills to bag those routes. maybe if I train hard enough... just maybe.

Good luck Clifford. Led me know if you need help whipping you into shape.

thanks man! if you can think of anything that I could do to work on specific muscle groups to help me send Moonbeam, I'm pretty sure I could send Sunshine too! I might start training really hard today!!! If I can do that, then I could send Everest!

I would bet he is a 5.10-5.11 trad climber in the Valley. No slouch. If he slogged his way up Everest his V02 max must be pretty respectable.
Did he do it with supplemental 02?

Pretty sure it was done with supplemental 02 plus all the other standard stuff: fixed lines, multiple sherpas etc. I'm sure it was still an adventure for the young guy but nothing cutting edge about it.
