hammocks are just the current incarnation of the cool kids club silly stuff....5-8 years ago everyone brought a Crazy Creek...why aren't those as good as hammocks?

some of those trees are deceptively old. a good 'hammock' tree, no bigger than your thigh, could be 300+ years old easily..especially in poor-quality soil with little water and sun (i.e., the base of cliffs). just a neat thought. we climb in special places.

i have a sweet hammock my grandad gave me. he got it in a cambodian refugee camp and it's the same kind the khmer rouge used. the soldiers liked them b/c you can set them up and take them down in a matter of seconds.

i sure as shit won't be bringin' it to the crag anytime soon, but i'll sell it to you.

i'm gettin' one.

always thought it was gay until i slipped into one last weekend at de Bib. strangely enough it turns out they are WAY more comfortable than a rock or a stump. it also puts you at a good angle to catch all the climbing going on until you pass out.

the one this guy had was from Hammock Bliss. Nice hammock but way too expensive. found some on ebay alot cheaper... they are probably all made in the same chinese factory anyway.
And on the third day, God created the Red River Gorge(by conjecture), and he saw that it was good.
