No, but I bracketed my comment with the remark that it may not apply to this specific situation. But when you talk about an "approach to climbing" it seems that you are starting to talk about the general idea (e.g. of climbing outside an established line).

I've seen a certain unnamed climber try to top out blade runner because someone was climbing Danita Dolores, which shares the same anchor. Hold broke, fell, swung into the other climber and knocked him off the route. Not cool.
I remember a gal awhile back tried to top out a route, which resulted in her first lead fall ever. And the consequence was a broken ankle - just the day after I broke mine.
