I remember running into and bouldering with John Sherman at LRC a few years ago. He always wears his helmet, even on V-easy -- smart man!

My helmit got stuck in a squeeze chimney up at the Dome. Instantly pissed me off.
Usually I start off wearing it then overheat halfway up the route and take it off.

I'm more likely to wear a helmet where loose rock is an issue (trad or sport; climbing or belaying).

Helmets annoy me, so I tend to not wear one. Even after a scary lead fall I took my first year climbing (now I just avoid slab). I have a nice Black Diamond helmet that I bought and wore a lot climbing around loose rock in Utah. Super lightweight and has ventilation.

Now that I work with people who have suffered from major brain injuries, I realize even more than before how important it is to protect your brain. Just realize that a helmet won't protect it 100%.
