I havent really run in ten years. Prior to that I had run 40 marathons and my pr was a 3:15 which qualified me for Boston. Last Christmas break I laced up and began running again. I included a long run each Sunday starting with 4 miles and am currently at 16 - needing to get at least two 20s in before the Derby Marathon. I am so slow now! I had never run 10s and worse, ever and now Im pretty much a 10 minute miler :) Oh well - it'll pass with the miles and i know speed will come back if I stay with it. I expect this 41st marathon to be ugly - prob 4:30 or something like that but I'll finish it. Am planning a September - Erie, October - Columbus and December - Rocket City this year.

good luck Kd....how old are you? I also had a 3:08 marathon PR, and my last one was 3:40 at age 41....so you can come back...keep at it....and as the picture attests, I am a fat runner, so don't use that excuse.

I ran my first 20 miler in ten years today! I forgot how tired and sore they make you. I wanna build up milage a little more this week, run another twenty next saturday and then taper to the marathon in two weeks. Man im so slow but havin fun anyway.

Baby! :P
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.
