Awesome! Very excited for the guidebook. Now if the battery life can just last me more than two hours. I don't think it's so much a knock on the device as much as how much I use it. Texting, reading news, forums, music, email, calls, YouTube, and now guidebook all combine to destroy my battery life. I had to buy an external aaa battery charger and some rechargable aaas.

My 32 GB iTouch is arriving Wednesday. I feel dirty buying an Apple product....

The only concern with the guidebook app is that keeping an ipod charged can be a real pain in the ass. If its cold outside, your device will loose a lot of charge overnight. If the only charge coming in is during the drive to/from the crag, you probably won't have enough for the whole day. sure would suck to lose all beta around pitch 3 of the day...

aaa battery charger, I looked, but could only find one at the apple store. I'm sure they're online now for cheaper. Reacharge it at the crag. AA would be better, but I couldn't find one of those.

I get several charges out of this. It also has multiple ends that can charge just about anything. The only drawback is it's a rechargeable battery, itself. After your iPod has died a few times, it is done whereas the battery chargers are good for as many batteries as you have.
Sure is a lot of fun while you're doing it...

Xtant, do you have an iPhone? With the newest iPhone, it cancer picky about charging. It expect to see a certain voltage on the data pins and a lot of third party chargers won't work.

also, some chargers can swell the internal batteries in the phone or pod and void any warranties.

so I took my phone to the apple store about the speaker problem I was having and they replaced without even thinking about it. Pretty coo so I am back to being very happy with my phone.

However I did loose all my phone numbers in the process doh (not because of apple but a stupid mistake on my part) :?
