It was awesome to see her climb.
I don't understand why her acomplishment should be quilified by anything, such as "she has high strength-to-weight ration", "she has small fingers", " she used features that were not "on" ", etc. etc.
She used her strengths (small fingers, low weight, high flexibility, etc.) to her advantage to compensate for things she doesn't have (long reach, etc.). Don't we all do the same when we climb?
As for the rest...
"her parents are living through her", "she won't be abe to do it when she is 18"... whatever! Who knows what she would be like when she is 18. She might be an amazing climber that everyone knows about, she might gain weight and grow tall/awkward and not climb much worth of anything worth noting, or she might not climb at all.
But right now, today, she is a little 8yo girl who has skill, strength and dedication to do something that the majority of posters on this board cannot do. She looks happy and clearly enjoying it... Kudos to her, and end of story.
And anyone who says it is all because of her parents has not tried to get an 8yo to do something he/she doesn't want to do....

Because not all 8 year old girls are climbing.
I'm comparing her to the adults with bruised egos because they can't climb like her, not other 8-year-old girls. But why they do compare themselves ... I don't know because she just has a physiological advantage.

I hear you. Different strokes I guess. My reactions to my daughter are pretty emotional, but she is only 20 months. I don't know how I would react if she sent V10.bcombs wrote:Being proud is a smile, a great job, a high five, a hug.
