Booinng!
Its that practice from hockey-bouncing off the boards. Although there really wasn't much contact there- It probably looked worse than it was.

Hey AC....did you take the big wipper on the run-out from the last bolt to the anchors on Wild Yet Tasty or was it at the 3rd/4th bolt that's hard to clip in the black rock? I bet that was exciting...glad to hear Spragwa didn't kill you!

I think that we sometimes loose sight of the fact that climbing is an inherently dangerous sport, ane everytime we rope up our lives are our at stake. We get comfortable and need stories like CCG's to remind us that climbing is indeed dangerous. Fortunately no one was hurt seriously in this reminder but that is not always the case.
Lest we all forget... climbing is a mostly meaningless pursuit that we do for fun.

CCG, I'm so sorry about your boyfriend's accident and injuries. You must be very shaken up. I hope you both recover quickly, and I'm very disappointed we won't get to meet you this season. Please make plans to come down as soon as possible - you will have no shortage of climbing partners/tour guides here! Take care.

It was by the 4th bolt-I like to go to the pocket out right and clip from a heel hook, but it means doing a longish move out to the right first, so I had a little momentum going that way. I dropped off earlier in the day before I tried that move, so I had a similar fall, but without that side ways momentum. Made a difference.
T'was a little exciting.
Although I almost took that whipper too, couldn't find the clipping jugs. I think I'd want a heftier belayer if I'm going to take that one, other wise my belayer might end up at the first bolt! Not so fun for them.

We should hook up, as I think we have about the same "mass"??

CCG, sorry to hear about the fall. I hope both of you have a full recovery.

Yes Wes, come climbing with us! I think it's really that I get stage fright. I see this big thing falling toward me and I cower. I caught a little 115-lb girl on Sat and gave nice soft catches. Counter-intuitive I know, but then again I'm kinda strange.
Jesus only knows that she tries too hard. She's only trying to keep the sky from falling.

AC likes to dive-bomb his belayers by taking falls before he clips the second bolt anyway! :D Be careful or you will be wearing his ass as a hat!

Oh ok. I was just remembering the time I was belaying you on Infectious. I had to lay out sideways to avoid joining you.....literally. The third bolt ain't so bad though, just as long as you don't have rope pulled up to clip! :D
