One time I had Rawls power bolts pinned down from a wholesale outlet for $0.88 a piece. Of course I had to come up with $880 for a thousand of them.
I think I remember a couple of years ago that a couple of bolters got together and bought RedHead bolts....
Maybe we can get together and use our collective buying power to buy a shit load of bolts at a more than reasonable price.

If you give a man a match, he'll be warm for a minute. If you set him on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life!
Don't want to stir up a can of worms here so to speak, but wondering if there might be a way to get a rebolting fund going to use the best possible hardware? Seems worth the extra $5-6 or so to use longer-lasting SS and avoid this process again later down the road. I wonder if it could start being a part of the RRGCC mission since the PMRP purchase is looking fairly probable at this point? I could get in touch with Greg Barnes at ASCA and see what he thinks. I think that the guy doing the actual rebolting work shouldn't be paying for it too!
I understand whate you're saying, and I agree it would be nice, but it's just not something the cc has ever done.dustonian wrote:I was thinking more financial support than actual "policing." Seems like safe bolts are in the interest of all climbers. I just gave $50 and wish now I had given a part of that Team Suck. Alas, now I'm broke
Now I will shut up and let someone from the coalition speak about it!
