Ray has some competition...

Post by pkananen »

I got to look at the new New River Gorge Rock Climbs guide from Wolverine, by Mike Williams. It's huge, super high quality, has lots of pictures, and obviously took a lot of work. Nice work Mike!

Let's see if it holds the best guide book title after July when the 3rd edition of Ray's guide comes out...

When the 3rd Ed comes out I'll buy my first guidebook instead of just printing off .pdfs for specific walls ;)

What about the iPhone deal? Any more word on that? Price? I'll assume it will come from the App store...
Sure is a lot of fun while you're doing it...

Hey Xtant,

The iPhone app is still slated for May release...

Dave is still working on the price of the app.

He is planning on offering 50% off the paper version if you already own the iPhone app.

now...the other question is how big of an increase in cracked screens will this app cause?

It will be interesting to see how many people start going to the new, now that there is actually a good book for the area. That's one of the reasons that the red is so accessible to people.

I've only climbed at summersville lake. Really liked it, but the guide totally sucked compared to the Red guidebook. This new guide looks sweet, all 10 pounds of it. I am still not a fan of a 5 hour drive when the red is only 2 away.
I've been a gumby longer than you've been climbing.
