I think if you click around and start noticing more of the new features you'll find that there's tons more information to be had from the new site. You can click on just about any section of any graph and it will throw a pop-up of more detail. The "Spy" thing is really cool too. If you spy on a user their profile will go to your home page and when you click on it you can see all of their latest comments (on the forum and the online guide) plus all of their sends, attempts, etc. It's really freakin amazing.

Cool. Maybe it's just my fear of change talking... regardless RRC has to be the best climbing area-specific website out there!

This may have already been mentioned, but I just now got around to using the online guide and have a question.

In the old guide, I could search for all the 10a's and 10b's and 5.9's that got morning sun or all day sun. In the new guide, I can't seem to select multiple categories. Is there a way for me to do that search in one try rather than doing 6 separate searches?

OK, I've lived with it for quite some time now and while I like the compartmentalization of the home page, and the flexibility of the widgets, there are some areas where I just have a hard time with the visuals. Maybe I'm Swiss and don't know it, but the site seems to be heavy on the bells and whistles while making it harder on the user. It could stand to be cleaned up a little in my opinion (perhaps a little restraint in some areas). Example: I have to really concentrate on the individual route pages, there's just so many fonts, justifications and scale issues. There's no visual relief. Kinda like a forced route, the flow just isn't there for me.

The other thing that bothers me is the disconnect from the RRC site. The old guide was clean and simple, and you knew it was part of the RRC site without thinking about it.

On the other hand, I'm an old dog and it takes me longer to learn new tricks. And I'm very happy that we have this site, the guide and people like you who are passionate and embracing of the opportunities given. With that said, good job. And feel free to contact me if you want more specific critique, or you can completely ignore my post. Life's good either way (just ask Pigsteak or Anti).

sorry, been a bit absent recently. will get to some of these this weekend..

josephine, on the advanced search, you get select multiple options by clicking and dragging your mouse to make a box select (like if you were selecting icons on your desktop).

all, i'll make some of the more popular widgets standard rather than having to select them in your preferences.

der uber, if you mean the big, blocking alert, then yes, they should stop showing after you click ok. the smaller, black ones will be there randomly (mathmatically, should be about a third of the time). personally, i feel that most people don't know where they're climbing, even people that come here often. but, if people really want them gone.. we'll think about it. and it's ray's after all so he gets final say on it.

also, i'll take a look at a couple of those errors..

woman, damn, forgot about that one before releasing it. it's not right and the colors don't accurately correspond right now. sorry.. and thanks for the catch.

rjackson, i need to work on the visuals, that's for sure. i'm happy you didn't see it when i first started coding it.. but it definitely needs some work still. this weekend i'll start to work on that a bit.. as for the disconnect from the board, personally, i'm really not a fan of the board colors and such. i wanted the guide to feel a bit "new" and disconnected. but, again, if it's too much so, we can change it.. and while i say it's ray's site, it's you guys he wants using it and that's why he's put it out there. so the more feedback you can give, the better it can be.

sorting.. just haven't gotten to fix that. again, this weekend i'll do what i can..
and great loves will one day have to part -smashing pumpkins

Paul, you work to hard.

Is there a glitch when you sort routes by date--something 'y2k-y' with the 10? doesn't seem like the guide wants to show the most recently sent routes of given climber x.

Are you sorting with the column, or the option above the table? If it's the column you are sorting, that will only sort routes on that page.

it would be nice to set teh text to "" when you click on the search field - right now you have to back it out manually.

Also - where's my "last 100 comments" link? Comon, man! And that element on the home page should actually show the comment, and then you have a link to 'more recent comments'

I can only spy on 5 people. You know that's too cool a feature to limit to 5.

I like the progress - I'm excited to see it get better. Needs work, will get worked.

The "View last 100 comments" link is at the top of the home page. Are you not seeing it?:

Sweet - I tend to be a jackass, but in that instance I simply did not see it. We're good. The new online giude is perfect!

Just looked at the charts - real nice. Hey can you put a draggable handle on the dialogs that pop up when you click on, say, routes sent per year?
