okay, now I would like everyone to turn it arond, and share when their life was 180 degrees opposite....if you love your life now, share when things weren't so good. if it now sucks, share when things were a bit brighter. I think the perspective would do us all good.

Honestly, my life has never sucked. At least not for more than a day.

Last time it really sucked was for my wife's last b-day party. We had the best evening partying it up at MU with our friends, but the next day I was so hung over I couldn't do anything but throw up all day. I wasn't right for about three days after.

Living in a dingy, roachy room in Manhattan with a large Bolivian family and a bitchy roommate, drinking and smoking a lot, rigging for a heinously cheesy and soul-sucking Disney musical on Broadway 55 hrs/week... ughhh. Still it didn't suck that bad really--the Gunks were close enough.

I spent 113 days out at sea, without even seeing land, working 18 hour days with 5000 other people on an aircraft carrier. It was right after 9/11 and we were bombing Afghanistan, so the engine rooms where I worked were about 115 degrees. That sucked, a lot, but it could have been a lot worse too.

Mark me down as not happy.

By most standards I guess I should be but life just feels like a big role playing scenario to me. Gonna try and fill up my time on this planet with this or that.... eat, work, sleep, shit, rinse, repeat.
And on the third day, God created the Red River Gorge(by conjecture), and he saw that it was good.

At one point I had no money, could not keep a job for more than a few months, and kept going back to school cause I had no idea what else to do. And being in school was easier than admitting that I was completely lost. I think I now have over 230 undergraduate credits...anyway.

One day over 10 years ago, a climber CPA took me under his wing and believed in me and gave me a share of his vision of a better life. Every step in your life prepares you for the next step...so keep stepping folks...keep stepping.

To Anti and everyone constantly progressing--> "Always becoming, never being".
Keep the faith. You will be a kick ass high speed trauma nurse, CRNA, NP, er something.
You will make a shit ton o money, and climb 15 days a month. Your dick will grow several inches and you will meet the coolest little baby doll skirt wearing freaky dance doing hippie chick that will think your crustiness is the best thing ever and cuddle up next to you trying to get your scent on her and you will go on the road and climb big walls together. That is what I see in your future. Ultimately several kids and you will be a scarey dad because you have cute daughters who the boys (much like yourself) are scamming for. You will join me, Bob, Kevin Cox, and Lee in a practice in Lee Co up on 11 where we go climbing at lunch and after work on summer evenings. We will be old and crusty cripples at the cliff barely able to walk up the hill but warming up on Convicted.
