Beds are over rated

Post by Wes »

So, I have slept in a bed maybe 3-4 times since mid-May. I have decided they are overrated for sleeping. I actually kinda like sleeping on the floor or in a tent. All you need is an OK sleeping pad, and life is fine. But when I tell people that, they look at me all strange and think I am not right in the head.

Now, I will allow that for gettin' busy purposes a bed is nice, but since I can't seem to find any sheep nearby, I am not all that busy.

Beds are overated. Its the person sleeping next to you that determines the quality of the bed.

That couldn't have been put more perfectly.

I sleep better on my Therma-rest in my tent than I do in my bed. I'm not sure if that is because of the alcohol I often consume while camping, or because of all the fresh air.

Phewy! Beds RULE. Sateen sheets, cozy comforter, soft matress, poofy pillows....

I've definitely had some cozy nights in my sleeping bag but I'd still take my bed over a cozy bag setup any day.

I have slept on a two foot thick $1500 mattress and it was the best sleeping set-up that I have ever been on.
Outside on a bouldering pad is tops for camping!

I like sleeping on the bodies of my vanquished foes.

One of the best nights I've had sleeping was in a tent, in cold weather! If its too warm I just can't sleep.
Another cool thing about beds is that they're easier to get into and out of. You can just flop down, and then roll out in the morning. None of this crawling around stuff.

Nothing is better after a hard day of climbing then a nice, cozy bed.
