Any ice forming?

Placing a cam? Slotting a nut? Slinging a tree?

maybe by friday or saturday, as long as it stays cloudy and cold they should be plenty thick enough... there's a few more flows that have almost formed into nice pillars out that way too. just a little more time...

Damn, are those alpine crampons?

Anyway, those look like nice climbs. Unfortunately, the flows down here in Pikeville were sweet, but haven't reformed yet. I spent the last week in Cincy, and I've got to say, the cut-through on the highway that those dudes were climbing last month...pretty short and cruddy looking.

yeah, my friend in the photo doesn't have modular crampons. but he said they worked pretty well with a stiff mountaineering boot. hopefully after this storm there'll be plenty more ice around...
