I got a 5. For real.
Because there are no consequences to doing poorly, but, if I got a shock for risking a lot and being wrong, I would have put 50 a whole lot more.
Anyway, the test is fun and all, but the bruce schneier essay is worth the time for sure.
Risk assessment..
Oh yeah, well just wait till next time pal. . I loved your post Larry. You are living like a lot of men want to live. I've done the bar fights, the climbing, the caving, fast motocycles, camping in bear country and large explosive chemical reactions all while doing recreational drugs. I too am here to tell the tale. It sounds like the average magnitude of your exploits is still quite a bit greater than mine.L K Day wrote:I know I love the risky shit, so I guess my 40 makes sense. But I have survived ragged edge climbing on rock, snow and ice, fast motorcycles, faster cars, guns, bar room brawls, paragliders, crazy women, crazier friends, solo hunts in serious Grizzly country, recreational drugs, absolutely stupid-assed swims, and all manner of other fun stuff. All with only rare injuries, physical or emotional. So, just maybe, my risk assessment isn't really all that bad.

The time I was thinking of was in 1987, but I have been in other fights. It was a man and I lost. I was wearing glasses; they cut me just over and under the eye. I was bleeding too bad to see. I ended up at the emergency room that night to get stitches.Clevis Hitch wrote:Bar fights? You were in a bar fight? With a boy or a girl?

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Considering that a 100 means you are apt at risk assessment. Which I would think would make you a better climber! Being able to accurately judge the "actual" risk involved in lets say running something out or not being able to get your first piece for a bit. If you didn't have the ability to accurately judge actual risk and went all out every time you'd soon crater.imopigsteak wrote:mike has it right....and scoring high should suck for all real climbers out there. so if you scored above 50, consider turning in your harness for knitting needles.
