Your analogy suggests that Ripper X is for weak sauces who can't handle pilates.

ripper x is to pilates as primal strips is to mingua bros. beef jerky.
So... not nearly as good, yet Brentucky will still insist it's better?

perhaps.
it's a bad analogy in many ways, but mostly in that i have never tried pilates, primal strips, or ripper x.

Every once in a while my foot slips. 90% of the time it IS because of weak core or bad technique, but there are definitely times when shit is just way more slick than anticipated and you go flyin.

95% of the time my foot slips off it's the shoes fault. The other causes for foot slippage are a cross between animal by-products, excessive polishing, and to a lesser degree, yet quite noticable, crag noises. Babies, oil wells, spraylords, machine gun fire, those kinds of things can stop a redpoint dead in it's tracks.
