yes, a masters for re-cert...never questioned that. but to start teaching, one does not have the have a master's....

believe it or not, almost every worker says what teachers say....we are over worked, under paid, and under appreciated. but we get to complain with only 2-3 weeks of vacation.

my guess if you haven't had a summer off then you are getting paid, right? don't forget I do school auditing for a living. I see the contracts. I know how much y'all are required to work. And you are paid fairly. And the retirement perks are outrageously good. And the health beniefits. And the hours.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

anyone with retirement and health care benifits shouldn't be whining. In fact if you still have a job you sahouldn't be bitching.

Piggie, I completely agree with you that every job thinks the same thing, and like I said I think I get paid well, but you are still assuming we only work the time our contract says, and in most cases that is not even close to accurate.

I doubt you get paid for a specific job that ends up being less than 70 cents an hour. Also, you may say its my choice, but young male teachers pretty much have to coach. Not really an option.

Lastly, I love my job. Its the greatest, but the worst part is having to listen to other teachers complain. Teachers are the most complaining people I have ever meet, mainly becuase most are women.

Unless you are working unskilled labor or tightening bolts on the line, I don't know many jobs where you 'only' work what a contract says. Most professionals always take it home, and if not physically working then at the least mentally.

Whatever your situation, if you don't like what you're doing, change it. Whining is just, whining.

Also, we all make decisions about our life's work. I had a great job with massive holidays, benefits and a short week, but the salary ceiling was very low. So I opted for the cash and gave up the cushie digs. I don't get MLK or Groundhog day off, but I got plenty of gear and money for anchors...
