Ok I'll bite. I am a practicing Christian, and I am not ashamed of my religion. That being said, I can't stand the ass-holes like were mentioned in the first post that spend their time waving a bible at people and telling them they are going to hell.

People have gotten way out of touch from what the religion was intended to be. Being a Christian, by definition, is to be as "Christ Like" as possible. Jesus didn't shove His beliefs down peoples throats, He simply presented his ideas and people could take it or leave it. So when a bible wielding psycho path is out yelling at everyone coming and going, believe or burn in hell, then they are not practicing their religion the way it was intended to be practiced. Jesus hung out with thieves, perverts, prostitutes, and a whole gambit of people that a lot of Christians today would shun. Not at all the way we were taught to act!

The really bad thing about this is it makes good Christians look like a bunch of closed minded idiots, which is not the case with all of us! Try not to stereo type every Christians to be an asshole (not that I am suggesting you did in your post, i am just making a general statement), we are not all bad I swear!

I Kings 16:30-33 wrote:30. And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him.

31. And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

32. And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

33. And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.

I just discovered http://www.conservapedia.com the other day.

It is quite the trip down the rabbit hole.

I know Alan Evil, he seems llike a real ass hole, I think he is an atheist...that blows a hole in the first theory....

Alan is exactly the type of person who gives non believers a bad name...smug, hateful, vindictive..

that being said, may I suggest you surround yourself with 'true" believers like your cousin, and try to find the good in everyone..otherwise, you are coming across exactly like this group you seem to loathe....this makes you just like them, whether you beleive it or not.

and, dipsi, this thread is about to prove EXACTLY your point.

caribe, are you embarassed by your brethern? here you go out of your way to apologize if you offended Dipsi, and then a horde who believes JUST LIKE YOU comes out and spews their hate...yep, you non beleivers are all alike, and the most hatful people out there.

oh but wait, you aren't all alike you say? we have to base our opinion on your personal merits? pffffftttt...alan does a good job of blanket hating every single religious person who doesn'tld his esteemed and vaulted sense of morals, ethics, and world order....and just when we thought neo cons were close minded he explodes on the scene.

that being said, caribe, are you man enough to denounce his version of reality as unacceptable (just like you did crankmas) and never climb with him? nd since saxman applauded and approved of the message, I am assuming you will do the right thing and also no longer climb with him. if not, please call yourself out as a hypocrite right here just like all these religious nut jobs they hate.

every religion, philosophy, worldview has those who twist it/employ for individual gain or generally misrepresent it, probably proportionally to its number of adherants

read what the founder said (as the cartoons hint),
if you're serious start with John's gospel

broken people, all of us
