Its always better than england. I live in Oxfordshire now, and got 1 climbing day last fall, when it rained less than normal in N. Wales...thebadgerrogers wrote:Hi,
I'm planning to visit RRG in 2010. I live just South of London, England and I've never been to the States so I have no idea what to expect from climbing in Kentucky!
First off, when is the best time to come, any suggestions?
I'll be staying for about 10 days so will need recommendations for accommodation. I'm after a modest but comfortable place that's got good food and beer after a hard day's climbing!
I was thinking somewhere in Winchester assuming the drive to the RRG is an easy one?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Best time of year to visit?
Re: Best time of year to visit?
hey, if you yell to your belayer saying "why charles III, you are quite possibly the worst belayer ever" will he throw his tea on you?

My thoughts.
Fall is the best, spring is second, and winter and summer are tied for third.
You can hit crappy weather any time in kentucky, so I really think your best bet it to come when ever is best for your schedule but don't come during these months: July, August, december, jan, feb. Of course there are good days during those months but to many chances for really bad conditions. Have fun and good luck.
I am not sure how hard you climb but the harder the better options during crappy conditions.
