I never knew that the Statler Brothers climbed back in the day. I figured they wouldn't have had time with all their touring and tv appearances.

that would be the stettner brothers.not statler bros. paul and joe stettner who climbed in the rockies in the late 1920s.

Still looking for some choss to climb. Anyone ever been along the Ohio River near Corydon/Levenworth area? Is there rock over there?

ok here are all the areas mentioned in Indiana in the Rock n Road atlas.

Portland Arch (closed) - three stars
Shades State Park/ Pine Hills Nature Preserve - one star
Turkey Run State Park - two stars
Unlikely Wall - two stars
McBrides Bluff - one star
Wyandotte Caves SRA - no stars(bouldering)

then it lists possible areas

these are
1) kickapoo falls
2)Cataract Falls
3)Stone head
4)Starved hollow state recreation area
5) Devil's Backbone
6)clifty falls
7)Wyandotte Woods
8)Squire Boone's Caverns
9) Marengo CAve
10) Greencastle Cliffs
11) Cedar Bluffs
12) Muscatatuck County Park

so that should give you some options to explore.

TK you hit the nail on the head.but there are a few good things scattered among the choss. but only to keep you in shape for better stuff in the red or other s east crags. i would say the glue ups are the best place, or go to the gym and fight off ankle biters.
