Rock Penis and Snake

Post by SCIN »

I have to share my pictures from this weekend. The first is a picture of a very large mushroom with a copperhead sleeping on it. The second is a picture of a real live rock penis.

hahaha NICE, SCIN, but the rock penises (peni??) in Arches are much, much better. Well because they are bigger. And of course size DOES matter... :P

Do you see the tree next to the copperhead on the mushroom? Well, placed my foot up against that tree to tie my shoe then noticed the snake a few inches from my hand. I screamed like a girl.

It could have been worse. Like if it was a great big spider!

I think that one has been to a Mexico cat house and forgot the wrapper.

Thank you Wes for reminding me that there are spyders in the RRG. Just to warn everyone....If I see one of those fuzzy 'wolf spyders' anywhere near me while I am in the Red....or any 8-legged bastard for that matter.....I will Freak.

I have taken falls because of those things......

I am the type who bunches up about 5 papertowels to squish a little tiny spyder...just so I don't feel it crunch. Aracnophobic?? yes.

CCG, stay away from rock piles. Ewww. The wolf spiders esp. come out when it's cool to warm up. They are hideous. I won't go near them. "Others do my killin ma'am."

Nahh. I don't think that they are too plentiful at Miguel's. Normally, I've seen them around where rocks pile up around creek beds, or around the cliff line, like at Oil Crack by the 12s and 13s.
