There appeared before me a heavenly star
A holy virgin, the bringer of life and breath
And she spoke unto me saying
"Fear not the movement of the heavens above or the earth below
For change is what we are, my child.
Righteous are those
Who look up and sway with the wind,
Who look down and dance with the shifting of the soil,
Who swim with the movement of the tides
Who seek the truth around them
And discover that we are
And have always been in paradise.
The reflections of heaven on earth. Amen!'
And she spoke again saying
"Know, my child,
That there is no devil seeking
To cause guilt nor harm to men.
No evil, save blind faith, ignorance,
And the desire for the unprepared
To blame others for the devastation
Left in the wake of change
And if we
Are reflections of the divine
We must roll with these changes,
For we are these changes.
...
And when the shit comes down, my child,
You will be there,
A true and holy survivor
To inherit the kingdom of god.
You will rise above the rumbles of the unprepared
To greet the new day,
To drink from the sweet fruit of the vine,
The water of life, the blood of the risen Christ, my child.'
'Go now, son,
Tell them all.
The ignorant, the blind paw by dogma,
Blinded by faith, the doubters, the nay sayers.
Tell them all, child,
They can not see
The kingdom of God,
They can not see paradise
Unfold before them
They can not drink
From the chalice
Which holds the blood of Christ,
The water of life,
Until they get right with Jesus.
Until they get right with Jesus.
It's always gonna be
Sour grapes with you, boy,
Until you get right with Jesus. Amen!

OK Andrew, you and all your pals want to reduce "pollution" - stop breathing!! And don't even think about farting!! CO2 is not pollution, and if you think it is then you have no business calling anyone a retard!
That said, I do favor reducing real pollution such as heavy metals in the atmosphere (Chinese coal power plants?). Many fish are no longer safe to eat.... Why the hell would we use big government to rework the entire world economy in hopes of solving a problem that may not exist? Why not focus on real undeniable problems that actually can be solved without sending us back to the stone ages....

I've been a gumby longer than you've been climbing.
What mechanism other than world governments is there for solving anything? Irrational fear of government is not productive. Accept the fact we are no longer in the 18th century and adapt.
What the hell is that even supposed to mean? Solved by who?michaelarmand wrote: Why not focus on real undeniable problems that actually can be solved without sending us back to the stone ages....
that's the kind of attitude that divides people. don't forget--we're all on the same team.michaelarmand wrote:...you and all your pals...

If we in the US really wanted to reduce CO2 emissions we would be pushing to convert all of our electrical power generation to nuclear and to burn all of our garbage in waste-to-energy plants instead of burying it in landfills. In my field Environmental Science & Technology is one of our Bibles. In the Environ. Sci. Technol. 2009, 43, 1711–1717 article "Is It Better To Burn or Bury Waste for Clean Electricity Generation?" http://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdfplus/10.1021 ... ookieSet=1 it is shown by USEPA researchers that it is better to burn.
From this bar chart in the article http://pubs.acs.org/action/showImage?do ... =359&h=247 it can be seen that waste-to-energy, natural gas, and nuclear power generation produce the least CO2 emissions. Unfortunately, I'm not looking for our politicians to be pushing for WTE or nuclear anytime soon.

Toad - enough with all the quoting! And I was responding to Andrew who used the word "pollution". Many people believe that (man made) climate change is caused by "pollution", which is not true unless you consider breathing to be polluting.
And captain - don't bring logical and plausible solutions to this discussion!! As I have been telling you people - the goal of Al Gore and the rest of the far left is to increase their power. This whole climate change scare is just a means to get there.

God that's funny. I suppose that once we get all the world governments involved, they'll be able to solve the problem of climate change just like they've solved all the other major problems, problems like war, genocide, totalitarianism and mass starvation. Silly me, I thought these were problems caused by government.charlie wrote:What mechanism other than world governments is there for solving anything? Irrational fear of government is not productive.
