I'll take jeff's share of the fame and glory. If none is available, I'm out. If I get a full page in rock and ice for my generous and selfless volunteerism, I'm in.
In lieu of all that, let's see who steps up from the non traditional crew to really pull this off. I sure hope climbers prove me wrong this time, and the turnout (and cash)is more than can be used.
Sport lines in wilderness areas
rather than just wait until enough money is collected, here are the routs and numbers of bolts including the anchors. If you are a fan of one of these commit to buying new hardware for it, this way you will know where your money went. first come first served though. We don't know the price per bolt at this time, however we can bet that the Fixe price listed earlier in the thread will be the max, so by committing you should expect the price to be about $9 per bolt, cheaper if we get a deal. After we have so many commitments we can see what deal we can get on the bolts send the money in and we buy them. If this sounds like a good idea, I will go ahead and commit to Frugal Chariot, fun climb that doesn't get the credit it deserves.

How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared
$4 per 8mm x 4 3/4 Titt bolt from Jim Taylor. That's the bigger one that we could not get to fail in pull tests - estimated to be about 9000 pounds in "average" corbin sandstone. Taylor's price might vary slightly due to Euro/$ exchange rate and shipping. This is Jim's actual cost. He only sells at his cost for re-bolting existing areas. Depending on how sloppy you are in dispensing goo (no one has yet done it as badly as I can) it will cost from $1.20 to $2 per bolt for the epoxy.krampus wrote:...We don't know the price per bolt at this time, however we can bet that the Fixe price listed earlier in the thread will be the max, so by committing you should expect the price to be about $9 per bolt, cheaper if we get a deal...

if this ends up being the MO for FRC rehab, i'll take "the infidel" and "up swift creek w/o a paddle".krampus wrote:If you are a fan of one of these commit to buying new hardware for it, this way you will know where your money went.

Reading through that stuff was eye-opening. If you read through the reports of the LAC process chronologically you get the sense that the ultra conversationalist hardliners lost the battle via a consensus process. There is room for maintenance of existing climbing and perhaps some development of new climbing in the FS managed areas.possum2082 wrote:wow. some masters of clip art at the fs.caribe wrote: http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/boone/lac/docum ... tislac.pdf
