Ray might be blessed but I had to modify my eating habits. If I did what most others do after puberty is long gone, I would be at the fat farm too. Ray is making sense though. We Americans know that our diet is killing us. Eat sensible and exercise 2x as much as they suggest. If you are gaining weight cut the calories or up the mach or both.

I learned to love running. I try to push myself as hard with running as with climbing. I've actually improved alot in the last year. I just kept pushing until one day I found myself looking forward to it. It's more than just a means to an end, it is yet another hobby. :D

I haven't been following this thread but just read through it all. I've been trying to loose weight all year with mixed results. Right now i'm down about 6 lb with 4 of those coming in the last month. I've been off soda for almost four weeks now and thats definitely helping. the thing is i am reasonably fit but have unnecessarily large thighs from all the cycling i did when i was going through my growth spurt and never shifting out of my big ring. So now I am trying to thin out my thighs and I can't run (which i think is the best way to do it). I've been doing 30 minutes, 3-4 times a week on an elliptical cross trainer, high rpm and low resistance. I'm not really sure if its doing anything to my thighs or if im loosing weight elsewhere. gotta figure out how to atrophy my thighs without going on bed rest
Sand inhibits the production of toughtosterone, so get it out and send.

There are a few cool iphone apps for this as well, some tied to websites, some free, etc. "Lose it" is one I have been playing with.
