Somebody had to say something about the dogs. The asinine activity of the few and the silence and complacence of the rest makes climbers as a group a bunch of assholes. If you are part of the group you have to do your best to walk against the current. I feel for the guy who had to darken his day by saying something negative to someone. I think he would do it again though, in fact I am 100% certain of it. :|

Because of Luke's irresponsibility the Death Star could still be in action today, bouncing around the galaxy, blasting planets at random, furthering the Emperor's evil agenda.

All because some stupid farm boy couldn't read a sign...
Nice.

Droids get you a valley pass for the day if Rick gets to play with them while you are climbing.

Thank you Ben for quoting from the published Rules for Muir Valley Visitors. I don't think we can say it any more clearly than that.

And, thank you, Josephine, for stepping up to a situation which could have put a dog at risk of serious overheating. We had to institute a No Dogs policy at Muir after years of irresponsible behavior on the part of a very few dog owners causing problems for other climbers.

I know it is stupid, but a big sign at the entrance to the parking lot saying no dogs in the parking lot, on trails, or at crags might help. At least then they can't claim they didn't see the little signs on the trees or that they didn't read the rules in the guidebook or online.
