went to the oasis sunday. the place looks like it only sees a handfull of chalk every year. the rock is super rough and rock was coming off left and right.
not the greatest quality but definitely worth a trip or two, depending on how many you can tick off in a day.
also, you park about 30 ft away from where you are climbing so we left the car on and littered the air with our noise pollution all day. i always kinda looked down on the ipod-at-tha-cliff-brah crowds, but it was kinda cool...
total chuff status confirmed.

Oddly enough, I went to bruisebrothers on two Sundays within the past month or two, and it was next to empty both times. It's mostly been crowded the other times I've been there lately, but as others have suggested, most of the crowds converge on the easier climbs there. You can usually get on a 10 no problem, and they're all quality routes. Great Wall and Hideout get the same crowds but don't have the advantage of having so many good 10's.
Roadside, Military/Left Flank, and Phantasia have all scared me off lately just looking at the parking areas. Even lady slipper parking has been packed lately.

"But the motto was, never think you're that cool - you're still just climbing rocks...in the woods...with bugs...and everyone thinks you're crazy."

I am with Kipp concerning the lode. I love the routes there so much, but within 10 minutes of being there I can tell you everyones hardest sends and I wont know a single name. The spray is too much for me to handle. I need thicker skin.
I have often thought of making a shirt that says, "you climb harder than me" to let all the Alpha-Dogs know that their ego will not be challanged.

Can't we all just get along?

Bruise bros was the busiest I have ever seen it this past weekend...easily like 50 people there. seemed to be 2 guided groups there also. We got on a few there, and then hoofed it over to great wall/hideout. that was a good choice because those walls were practically abandoned...only saw like 10 people over the course of the afternoon. I have never seen them overflow parking down to little flat part down the trail and down towards their house...it felt like everybody was at Bruise Brothers. thanks again to the Webers for opening their property to us. The weather was PERFECT!
