ambulance at roadeside
Glad you are ok! I have seen many people fall there and get hurt because they did not stick clip. I sort of don't like it when people hassle others and try to get them to do something they feel is unsafe. (I know that wasn't the case with you)
I have given into peer pressure like that (twice) when I first started climbing and got seriously injured both times. I've learned my lesson. If my gut says "no," I will listen to that.
Some days you feel confident soloing a route, and others, you want to stick clip a move you've done previously with no problem. I think your gut knows best. F%*^ all the others who are on the sidelines, saying "go for it dude!" When you are not feelin' it.

Hauling a big ego up a route adds at least a full grade.

When I was 19 I decked from 25 ft up the Beeneling over at Frenchburg. My foot slipped as I was five feet into the dihedral above the pillar at the base. I hit on the loamy soil at the base with my head narrowly missing this blade of stone sticking up.
Good experience. I walked away and got the shit scared out of me. That immediate view of my mortality has served me well since.

"It really is all good ! My thinking only occasionally calls it differently..."
