Help the RRGCC win $1000!

Post by Josephine »

http://tinyurl.com/rrgcc1000

under "affiliate organization name" write RRGCC

join the access fund for $25 & the RRGCC will get 20% of all donations given by new members affiliated with the RRGCC AND if the RRGCC has the most new members before dec 18, we get a $1000.

It's a win-win situation :-)

I remember a couple years ago I helped a friend raise money to go on an AIDS awareness trip to Africa by going to the Amazon.com Warehouse in Lexington and wrapping people's gift orders. Not sure if that program still exists, but you get something like 75 cents per package that gets wrapped by someone from your "organization," and they do it for a lot of non-profits. It's getting to be that time of year, so I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Do membership renewals count toward the goal or just new memberships?

Cool! I have been planning to join the Access Fund for a while now, but this was the last push I needed.

Done!

Only new memberships count towards the contest but if you are a renewing member and designate the RRGCC as your LCO a portion of your membership dollars will come back to us.

i'm not trying to stifle the momentum.......

but wouldn't the RRGCC make a lot more money if everyone just donated their $25 directly to them? even if they won the $1000?

so we could have 40 people donate $25 to the RRGCC directly (which would be awesome) we get $1000 :-)

or

we could have 40 people donate $25 to the access fund (which would also be awesome) if they name the RRGCC (and 40 people is the winning number) we get $1200 - the $1000 prize AND 5% of the donations, which would be $200.

obviously, that's very much depending on if RRGCC is the winning organization - but it certainly won't hurt us any. And many people are members of more than 1 organization. the access fun is a great cause and they've given the RRGCC tons of support. :-D

I'd be bummed if the Access Fund lost money in our name. They get a ton of stuff done we are in no way equipped to handle. If you can only do one, I'd personally prefer it be RRGCC (for purely selfish reasons, cause it helps me sleep better) but it hurts when I say that out loud.

The AF has been a big partner of ours (and many other sister organizations) for longer than pretty much any other sponsor out there. I'm really psyched about the work they've been doing the last couple years.

In short, I am as big a fan of the Access Fund as the RRGCC and all of you should be too.

so, i let my AF membership lapse years ago. BUT, regardless of whether it'd be a 'renewal' or 'new' membership, i'm tempted to do it, but it wouldn't count toward the winning 1000, right? in which case, i'd really like to know what it is the president or director does to earn ~70k/year. but all those cool companies that support it can't be wrong, right? so buy more cool gear, right? but then if all the crags get closed, what would i do with it all? i can climb fire and brimstone forever and never remember the moves. i'm so bored.
