Southern Region
Gretchen posted the right answer above. The RRGCC is looking into it and will let everyone know when more info is available. It may take a few days or so. Just relax and don't worry about it til then.

Until the source and validity of the signs is verified, I think people need to refrain from climbing in the Southern Region. Or at least stop posting here that you are ignoring the signs.
Hopefully the signs are NOT owner approved and will come down, but we just don't know and if we need to negotiate access, violating posted no trespassing signs is not going to help matters.

Umm Another thought on this. The RRGCC does not yet own the land. So, if this cannot be resolved because a climber had an altercation with the oil company, we are in a difficult legal position as far as maintaining access. This issue illustrates an even BETTER reason to buy the property and the reasons for us to be sensitive about our behavior. No one condones poor behavior.
If/when we buy the land, our access to the Southern region would be more secure because we would own the surface rights. Instead of having all climbers BANNED from the property, we could work on the issue as a community. For instance, until this is cleared up, we are trespassing in the Southern region when we climb there. Which means that they can call the Lee County Sherriff's department and have us escorted off the property, or worse.
