time for a history lesson...

Kenny and Jason from Cbus started keeping their campers at Linda's about 6 years ago. Back then Lago Linda's was a horse camp. The horse people started to become more and more of a pain in the ass just like the climbers are becoming and so she kicked the horse people out and stopped catering to them. At that point she was without much buisness but she wasn't that concerned because she still had her cabins. The Cbus crew convinced her that climbers will come and might be a better group to set up campgrounds...but we warned her that climbers can be douchebags too.

Lesson learned is that Linda will have no problem kicking all the climbers out if she get sick of all the bull shit.

And let's not forget the drunken climber who ran over and flattened/demolished her picnic table.

Seriously, if it is a bad experience for you, then choose other camping. Linda has been very accomodating especially with RRGCC functions, has dealt with climbers and isn't charging you and arm and a leg to be there. I'd be a bitch too (well, I am) if I were her.

Sounds like you did not know to check at the cafe before picing a site?

Yes, Linda occasionally gets fed up with:

1) people camping in reserved sites
2) climbers not taking out the trash
3) climbers not mopping the excess water off of the floor after showering
4) climbers saying they want her to make breakfast and then not buying the breakfast, leaving her with extra food and getting up to cook for no reason.
5) climbers who are noisy after 11pm
6) climbers who let their dogs off the leash and don't pick up the poo

In general, she runs into the same stuff over and over, so she sometimes blows up in frustration. Mostly, she is very nice and always trying to think of how to make the climber's visit to the Red more enjoyable.
Plus...it's only $5!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. If you don't like it--don't camp there. It is already too crowded anyway.

Every time I've reserved a spot I've come to find somebody already set up there...last time it was some random RV taking up 2 full sites. If she could expand on the idea of the shelter area a bit, maybe put some random tables/fire rings out in that field it would be a lot better. I rarely see a climber using the electric hookups, but it would be nice to have a fire without fighting for a reserved spot...
