Hooked
A couple days ago I’m climbing at The New on a route called G-String. I get up to the cruxier section of the route with my waist a couple feet above the last bolt, and BAM, I fall. Only this time it wasn’t soft. Somehow my biner pierced the side of my harness during the fall and I’m dangling there at the bolt, with my harness twisted tight around my ribcage suffocating me like a python. I couldn’t breathe. I rushed to get a couple slings off my harness and made a quick etrier to step into to relieve the pressure and self-rescue. If I hadn’t had those extra slings on my harness I could’ve suffocated up there before anyone could reach me. It was quite a scary experience, that I never thought would happen. Just thought I’d share.

But stranger things have happened...
Except it was twisted around behind my back.
