there are other ways up but that really does suck. they spent a lot of skrilla to "fix" the road over the years.

i rem when merrick and i got his station wagon stuck on the back roads, good stuff.

all and all it may be like 9a/b here, with some good and some bad. the bad being the money lost but the good being the area was loved to death and could use some rest.

I think the back way is washed out and at least party closed as well. Hella hike up to the boulders, but at least the crowds wouldn't be too bad!

met a guy at obed last weekend who said the road is now open. Found this online

Thanks for reminding me to call. I have good news and bad news for the climbers interested in Rocktown.

Good news they said the creek crossing has held up just fine. It is accessable with a high clearence vehicle. I.E. Truck or something similar. So the road is still in decent condition.

Bad News this weekend the Pigeon Mountain is closed for the hunt. I will post the rest of the hunt dates a little lower. The weekend of Nov. 14,15 THE MOUNTAIN IS CLOSED FOR A HUNT. This includes all caving, Lost Wall, and Rocktown....

The rest of the hunting dates are as follows
Oct.16-18, Nov.11-14, Dec.9-12
Also a bear was spotted near the Petty Johns cave about a month ago. So keep your eyes open for the animals if you are in the area.

I hope this helps and answers your questions. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Thanks
Lenny

The road is not open. If you don't have a buggy or a motorcycle don't even think about hitting Rocktown til Summer.
