Throw yourself into climbing like a pot head at a Black Crowes show. It will only lead to a better life for you. You will! become both mental and physical stronger than most of your peers. You could! gain a deep respect for the outdoors. You might? meet and become friends with some of the greatest men and women to ever live. Good Luck. BE CAREFUL.
because i can
Don't sweat it Mack5. You are no more addicted to climbing than half the people on your high school soccer team, baseball team or football team. Which half you might ask. The gamers. Your goalies, your pitchers, your quarterbacks. The people that are a step above everybody else. Those are the guys that you might call "addicted". I would just call them great athletes.
I think the word addicted is getting overused. Try love. You love to climb. I certainly love to climb.

Pace yourself Mack5. I understand the obsession, but you need to balance it with the rest of your life. If all you do is climb, to the point where you don't care about school or your future, it will turn around and bite you eventually.
You have a great head on your shoulders. Just believe there is more to life than climbing.
I know I couldn't grasp anything I didn't want to hear when I was 15, but it's true. If you plan to make a living from climbing (sponsored) understand the competition is fierce and only the true "phenoms" seem to stand out.
Disclaimer: I am still somewhat obsessed with climbing.

unfortunately, climbing may be one of those sports that can make it harder to get laid, so you should be sure to take at least one or two night off a week from climbing. This time off, though hard to deal with will prevent you from getting injured, and you will be crushing like a monster when you hit college. So long as you are not whining about your shoulders and tendinitis at the age of 20, you will have your pick of the ladies from the freshman "I want to try climbing" pool. At this time, no matter how burned out you are, you will love climbing again.

How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared
