It was nice that they used the term "hiker" this time instead of climber, when referring to the man who became stuck.

Looked like he slipped and fell only a few feet down onto the sloping tree. He said he hit and slid out of control about 25 feet without falling off until he stopped in the fork of the oak. The sloping tree trunk was too steep to shinny back up, and the fork was too high off the ground to jump down (30+ feet.)

Im all for saving lives but if you are stupid enough to get stuck in a tree of all places, you should probably be dead. Otherwise we are interfering with Darwin's theory of natural selection.

Did he walk off the cliff in the dark without a light?

"He even spoke with him while he was in the tree."

huh?

"I finally got ahold of him this morning and asked what was going on and he said he got sidetracked and he'd be there soon, and I said 'are you here', and he said 'I'm close", says Mike Bruner."

wait. so he actually talked to his cousin while he was in the tree...and didn't tell him he had been stuck in a tree for hours? exposure hell, he's lucky he didn't die from embarassment.
