Presentation - Climbing and Bolting Routes in Australia

May 9 - Next Saturday

Dr. Michael Law, an Australian rock climber, route developer, and Materials and Engineering scientist will be giving a presentation next Saturday night at 8 PM at True North Inn in Pine Ridge. The subject will be climbing in Australia including recent bolt testing he has conducted in Aussie sandstone, similar to our Corbin sandstone.

This would be a good opportunity to check out the new True North Inn's menu offered by new owner, Jeff Columbo. And, enjoy Dr. Law's presentation afterwards.

How is the sandstone similar? Age? Provenance? Mineralogy?

Sorry, I posted the wrong date. Dr. Law's presentation IS next Saturday, which is the 9th - not the 16th as originally stated.

Have you really done compressive strength tests on Corbin sandstone? That's cool! i'm guessing you only did a uniaxial test. anyway, can you post the data somewhere?
