I am sure youth jails aren't the same as state or fedreal jails.

They aren't. I've been to both. Youth lock up is much more strict. Way scarier.

Well it is time for an update...

This coming Wednesday I see the doctor and find out if I am able to start walking on the leg and start therapy which I hope it will be good news.

In the process of having my leg in this cast for so long I develop a lot of calf pain and swelling so after a sonogram of my veins in the leg I have DVT (deep vein thrombosis) nothing to fool around since I can die from it if a piece starts running lose in my body...so now I am doing shots in the belly of Lovonox and taking orally Coumadin...my questions to any of you who might know more ... I will have to take the Coumadin for six months the doctors say I have to be careful with head injuries. In 17 years I have never had a head injury but also I never broke a foot...should I start belaying and climbing with a helmet till I get out of the Coumandin???

Thank you all you are great!!

as for what you should or should not do - maybe someone else will have a more qualified opinion. but - if you do decide you want to wear a helmet i would recommend the petzl meteor III. it's the most expensive but it's also extremely light weight and has lots of ventilation.

here's one on sale:

I would take all precautions if I were you, including wearing a helmet. If you get a head injury while on Cumadin, you can get serious brain damage from bleeding and pressure before you get to a hospital. Also, you will have trouble controlling any bleeding at all, so that is also a concern. Hope your clot dissolves safely. Keep us updated.
