April 24-26

Post by GumbyJim »

Spring is here, and I'm looking to go climbing, but I'm the only guy I know in flat land Ohio that (ahem) climbs.

I had to clear my throat, because I just started last year. I capable of top rope up to 5.9 (I've been about half-way up a 5.10 ) I have, however, had a little (really, very little) experience belaying a trad lead. Yet, I am very willing to tag along, and learn. (i.e, be your belay monkey in exchange for some learnin' :D )

I'm thinking of bailing out next week for Miguel's, and grabbing some climb time, if I can find someone to drag a hang-dogging 38 year old with em.

a really good way to start is to hangout at urban krag and make friends. the people at that gym are very friendly and willing to teach. i'm pretty certain there are some of them that come down to the gorge regularly that will let you tag along. that's how i started.

miguel's is always a good place to meet people.
