"Route Conditions" Forum

Post by mike_anderson »

I suggest we add a forum to discuss route/wall/region conditions. i.e., I would ask things like:

"Is there water pouring down the Lady Slipper wall?"

"How is the road to the Motherlode?"

"Are there spiderwebs on Crouching Tiger?"

If we kept all of this stuff in one place (as opposed to within the online guide), it would be easier for people to find, and reduce redundant posts. Furthermore, I think you would get answers to your questions faster than posting in the guide.

PS, I love the site.

People would still ask without searching.

And they would see the status, but not the date (ie THREE YEARS AGO)

But, I would recommend that weather oriented posts automatically delete after 48 hours. More than that and they really don't apply anyway. Physical conditions of the stone and access might be a little more appropriate forum topics for sure.

That sounds complicated. I'm gonna blow a fuse just thinking about it.

the comment section (or the like*) for the route in the guide seems like a better fit, because folks are already posting such info about the route there.

* a copy of the comments info labled "recent conditions". that would just show the last 15 or so comments about the route, possibly with a link for all.
