This is ALL about a great article that came out in the paper to help protect the climbing community from additional possible closures. This is a big issue; an issue that is already going National (and to a small extend: International).

However, the mentality here seems to be more of a "small town mentality".
Can't we all be messed up, but a little more on the normal side?

Yeah, I am definitely detecting a bit of "My man ain't yo' baby's daddy and I KNOW you wuzn't down at the park-n-ride with him last night ho!" attitude here.

Y'all rock! I haven't really posted on this topic because I wasn't sure what to say.

I will say that I am a selfish person. I love climbing and I want to climb in the Southern region for as long as I'm climbing. So, I hitched my wagon to the Murray Property Purchase and am trying to raise money because I want to climb there, when I'm not working as a mechanic at Lowell's. I do want everyone else to be able to climb there too but my primary motivation is selfish. I haven't redpointed Whipstocking yet

Oh and I also hate development and would be disappointed to see all of that beauty turned into condos.

Ahhh. You have come to my area of expertise. Ghetto is poor ethnic. Redneck is poor white. Both have extreme views regarding race and appropriate behaviors that are influenced by their social environment. I, for example, was raised pretty well redneck. Most days, however, I manage to maintain some sort of "social filter." It keeps me from calling people at work who piss me off a "motherfucker," which is my favorite word.
