Thailand
Well, I figure my first day or so will be spent in Bangkok. Good timing will be hard to come by when it involves a last minute flight from Kentucky and space available flights from Afghanistan. Besides, a night on the town might be nice after 8 months in Afghanistan
I'm gonna leave the climbing planning to Ditzy. She's better at that sort of thing.
I've seen a couple guide books out there, but what about getting a local guide for a few days? Seem like a waste of time and money? I'm thinking that would be a good idea since climbing trips to Thailand don't happen very often. It'd be a way we could be sure we are hitting some of the more stellar routes and not missing the best climbs since we just didn't know any better. Also, a local guide would know about newly developed areas maybe not in print, yet.

Sure is a lot of fun while you're doing it...
