tall, strong climber chicks

Post by Josephine »

some friends and i were talking about women who climb hard and their height. while there are lots of examples of petite super strong climbing women (lynn hill, katie brown, beth rodden to name a few) we couldn't come up with a similar list of tall women who climb hard. someone suggested steph davis - but at 5'5", i don't consider that to be very tall (although i'm sure she'd be taller than the previous 3 mentioned).

so - can you think of any tall women who climb 5.13 or harder?

What do you consider "tall"? The average height for an American female is 5 feet 3.8 inches.

good point meadows. alright - we'll say "tall" would be 5'8" or taller just for discussion's sake.

Isn't Majka Burkhart like 5'8? I hear she climbs in the 11's. How tall is Emily Harrington?

Jen Sauer (sp?) formerly of Lexington now I think in Colorado. Freed the Glass Menagerie at 5.13 (Trad) in Looking Glass North Carolina. She's at least 5'8".

Climbing is easier if your short. Just ask Jens at 8a.nu. He has compiled a list of top climber and height, and for men the number is below 5'8". I don't know for women. This just proves that I am the strongest woman in the world, I mean person.

Height is detrimental in many ways:
-Extra unlosable weight
-leverage for mulitple body parts
-huge heavy feet
-weight
-leverage
-long fingers, were jugs to you are quarter pad crimps for me
-leverage
-Weight
