The ongoing weekend idiot report
I lowered off of a single open shut because the second one wouldn't accept the rope. I rationalized it though. I thought, hey I tie a bowline. It is a tricky knot* that I might screw up given another chance.
Wait a minute. This thread is about being an idiot on the "weekend". This went down on a Monday. Forget it.
*Tricky Knot. Is it me or does the Bowline or Double Bowling tie differently when hanging from the anchors on steep routes?

The belay card army was out in full force on Sunday.
We saw:
A girl hold herself up by grabbing the rope above her atc while she unclipped from the anchor. (her partner did have her on a fireman's, at least...)
Numerous counts of bushwhacking/trail erosion, including one dude who actually argued with us for calling him out on it, despite the fact he was still standing directly behind a barrier rope with a "This is not a trail" sign attached...
A person putting on/taking off her chalkbag by pulling it over her head.
A super annoying group of people who kept yelling "Spring break 2009! Woo!!!"
Oh wait. That last one was us.
