Im going to be heading to climb in the red from thursday march the 5th till wednesday the 11th. This will be my first time climbing in the red. I just have a few questions to ask.
Camping. I plan on camping an Miguels. Seems to be the best place to stay. But is there any problems with theft there? Is it alright to leave your tent up while your out climbing for the day? Is there running water there to fill water bottles and to use for cooking?
Miguel's is pretty safe in my experience. I have had no problems leaving my tent and sleeping stuff there for the weekend. There is running water there to fill up your canteens and to cook with.
The rest of the Red? Not so safe. Lots of break ins.
Sarcasm is a tool the weak use to avoid confrontation. People with any balls just outright lie.

When I go the red, I do either miguel's or backcountry. I did not have any problems at miguel's, pizza is amazing! Backcountry I did not have any problem either, but we did not leave our tent in one place. We just packed up and moved as we went. Allows for a lot of flexability.
So break in's are pretty bad around the gorge it seems. Are they bad at the parking pull offs? Do you have any suggestions that could mitigate the possibility of break ins?
i've never had my car broken in to, but ive heard plenty of stories about break-ins at the spots that i usually park.
just lock your valuables in the trunk/glove box, and anyone who peers into your vehicle will just move along. done and done. or better yet, just leave in unlocked/windows down.
