cling to the myth? are you kidding me? how's this for a myth...telling a young person that they can make it to the NFL...what are the odds, like 1 in 200,000 high school football players will play in the NFL...
yeah, blame everyone else for "the myth"....
eat that.
postscipt: found my answer..chances of making the NFL from high school....9 out of 10,000..actually, way better than I imagined.

You have to remember that they draft lots of players every year. This is to replace those players that they cut so they don't have to pay their medical bills and pension as per union agreements. Mrs. Lordjim has the wife of a former NFL player cut just before the pension kicked in who is suffering the life time of pain that most of them endure.
On a side note we're trying to convince our nephew to try to get the college scholarship so he can be a football coach instead of having the final goal be the NFL. Not as good pay but without the lifetime of pain and a much better chance of actually succeeding.

Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.

When will people ever accept responsibility? Is life 100% fair? NO! But blaming your problems on "cutural influences", give me a break....

How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared
