Looks like I'll be in Bowling Green about twice a month for the next several months. Just wondering what climbing I might find (sport, trad or bouldering) within 45 minutes or less from BG. Alternatively, any climbing gyms?
I looked at Toula's Rock and Road, but the issue from the Library is so old I wonder if I'll get shot wandering around people's property looking for underdeveloped crags from 20 years ago.
Any suggestions?
Bowling Green climbing areas
check out kings bluff near clarksville, TN. it is in the new dixie cragger for tennessee. it is a short 30'-75' limestone cliff. most of the climbs are bolted. it is owned by the SCC and it is really well maintained and only 5 minutes from the parking lot. it is a great place for beginner climbers (180 routes total and 60 or below 5.8). there are a lot of 5.10's, .11's and .12's i think it tops out around .13b (Arno iglner and his brother mark put up a lot of the harder stuff). really fun, and a pretty place to climb... check it out and let us know what you think of it. and anybody else in the area should take a day and look at what it has to offer. (it is what it is)

Hunters Bluff near Pennyrile Park also has many cool routes. The bouldering spot is Cliffty Hollow. Right next to the road and with some great terrian. You will probably see someone there on a nice day. Go to Nats and get in touch with Will Meng. Cliffty is 10 outside of town. Shanty Hollow 15 min outside of town. Clarksville 150 min/ Hunters Bluff 120 min.
