Muir Valley trails reopened

Post by weber »

Thanks to a great bunch of 12 guys and gals and some ferocious chainsawing, all Muir Valley trails and roads were cleared of storm debris today and are open for use. Never thought a trail day in February would work, but the weather really cooperated and much was accomplished.

A note of caution to early bird climbers -- watch for falling ice. There is still much clinging to the cliffs overhead.

You're wonderful people with wonderful friends dedicated to keeping Muir Valley the treasure that it is. A big thanks to all who helped in this effort.

It was fun and there really wasn't that much timber to cut when we spread out and worked the approaches. Chainsaws rule!

We went out to the bowling alley past sunnyside today. We tried to move what we could by hand, but it could still use some work. Thanks to everyone for their hard work getting it where it is now.
