this idea has been suggested before. the problem is someone needs to take it and run with it. unfortunately, the BOD members have a bit much on their plate to handle this right now. but this is a great opportunity to volunteer for the RRGCC even if you live far away and can't make it to the meetings/events.

we need someone with the capital on hand to call up and print an order - maybe 100 stickers - and we can sell them for $2 each. (unless you think people would pay $5!). at minimum, you get a $99 tax donation and RRGCC gets $200. unless, of course, that you want to donate more. And if multiple people want to chip in that would be even better. we could have a variety of stickers or just a whole bunch of them so they don't run out quickly.

does anyone want to volunteer to head this project? woodchuck008? sagman? anyone? if so email volunteer@rrgcc.org.

As long as you get the order in by the first weekend in April, we can sell them at the Reunion - and i think that would be great to have in addition to the T-shirts that are normally sold.

I only ask that the design not be 5.12 or 5.whatever. that would be so gay, even worse than the 26.2

just sent an email. I did this a few years back selling RRG oval stickers and was able to raise over $150 for the RRGCC if I remember correctly. I'd be willing to help out and do it again.

OK, I'll consider doing something soon, as I have the time( but not the cash). I'll check that sticker site out for other shapes and costs too. I'm guessing the phrase "5.7 .and proud of it" idea isn't going to sell too well. Ideas anyone?

I'd say get 250 of them, they are 20% cheaper in that quantity, and I would think we could use them all. It would also be nice to give a sticker or something like that to folks who donate to the RRGCC. I'll donate cash for this effort...

Would anyone be opposed if I were to purchase 100 stickers with:

5.11 (large print)
RRGCC.org (small print at the bottom)

and donate them to the RRGCC? I basically want to make sure it's ok to use "RRGCC.org". I guess a pm from someone at RRGCC would do.

RRGCC can sell them for what every they like therefore I can increase my yearly donation without anything more coming out of my pocket.

It would be nice if other "donors" could hit some of the other levels (no 5.15s please  )

I'd be opposed. what in the world does 5.11 have to do with the RRGCC? and climbing 5.11, BTW, is not even close to running a marathon, so that sticker does not equate to a 26.2 sticker.

I am not trying to be a jerk, but trying to help ya sell the crazy stickers.

Instead of a climbing grade, just do the PMRP in the oval with RRGCC smaller at the bottom. Or, put the year we expect to pay of the PMRP.

Hang on a bit.

Over the course of our ten years in existence, the RRGCC has developed definite guidelines concerning branding of our image and logo (that's why that rrgcc biner is recognized all over). Personally I'm concerned if anything with the RRGCC logo/website gets produced without at least a bit of discussion among the Board of Directors. I'm sure there are others on the BOD that will agree.

We are the ones who hold a certain amount of accountability for our existence (and you'd be amazed how much non-sense that involves). So efforts to promote our image that are not discussed with the BOD make me nervous, however generous and appreciated those efforts may be.

God knows what people may think......"You aren't allowed to be a RRGCC member if you don't climb 5.11? The RRGCC really thinks people that don't have a 5.11 on their spray list aren't worth representing? The RRGCC thinks number chasers are invalid because they celebrate 5.7 weekend warriors that put no effort into improving their skills....."

You see where I'm going with this.

I'd be all for a parallel effort with a simple PMRP logo or something along those lines. The RRG stickers randomboulder did were a huge success, but I'd still like to discuss it with the BOD to make sure there's nothing I'm missing.

We have a meeting early Feb. Although I personally am so absolutely psyched that everyone understands and promotes the mission, branding and public opinion are things that include definite internal guidelines. So, until you hear from us, please refrain from plugging any RRGCC "copyrighted" items like the RRGCC logo, website, or PMRP. Please give us a bit to validate among ourselves. We're the ones that have to answer the angry emails or talk to the annoyed sponsors.

Thanks everyone!
