Hello guys,
We are belgian climbers and we plan to have a climbing trip in the US next summer.
Could you please tell us what are the best spots at this period?
Is it climbable at Red river gorge, Rumney... during july-august-september?
Are there other nice spots around there?
Actually, we'd like to climb beautiful sport routes, boulders, and trad
Thanks a lot for your help

Climbing trip
This reminds me of that Wild West scene: the piano music is rolling out of the only place in town from between the wooden swinging doors; scantly clad bar maids make their way from one end to the other; there is a game of Texas Hold-em in the center of the room. Suddenly, two Belgians walk in from the dusty road, out of the night. The music and all other movement stumbles to a halt, hands hover over pistol grips--the hair triggers have hair triggers. You could a hear a pin drop, if someone dared to drop a pin.
Come on down boys it's gonna be hot :)

it rained in rumney all last summer but hopefully it will be different this year. If you go to rumney check out

cheap place to set up a tent or for a little more get some a/c in the hostle. super cool people that work there and the whole farm is awsome hiking grounds for a rest day. They will also let you work off some of your room fees.
If you go to the red it will be hot, sweaty balls hot but people still climb, just brink some extra chalk.

How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared
to be honest. rumney is also pretty hot in the summer and definitely humid with a good chance of rain... I would look for higher elevation. Colorado would be a good place if you want to do sport (rifle is the summer sport spot for most the country) bouldering (rmnp, evans, and vedauwoo are all good in summer) as well as trad (again rmnp would be good).
The Red in the summer? If you are a morning person you can get in a lot of climbing before the heat starts, especially if you are camping down there. There are also some crags that get a lot of shad. We have summer and winter crags. How hot is too hot for you? Global warming is cranking up the heat, evolve or die.
