I didn't vote on it.

My thumbs will crack on their own a couple times a day.

Ocaisionally (usually during climbing) my middle finger will feel out of place and I give it a little side-to-side pressure and sometimes it makes a little noise.

When I was 15 and 16 climbing at the lode regularly I use to crack all my fingers by torquing them to the side. During that time I had problems with my knuckles hurting both on the ground and while climbing. It got bad enough that I couldn't climb some days, so I quit cracking them and a while later the pain went away. Guess how I voted.

I have a real thick middle finger that I crack multiple times a day right at the tip, it feels good.

I used to crack all my knuckles, but at some point during my freshman year of high school, I weaned myself off of all but the thumb and forefinger on my right hand and the ring finger on my left. The decision on which would remain was pretty random, and I intended to stop altogether eventually, but it's never quite happened. I do crack them less than I used to.

I've heard both sides of the issue, though I can't imagine it's that great for your joints. I'm going to try to quit again. Thanks for the poll, toad.

I use to crack the only knuckle that would crack when I was a teen. It's the very same knuckle with near constant pain in it now. So ,yes it's bad.

my mom had both of her thumb joints removed due to so much pain and swelling...she used to crack and do the double jointed trick when younger...all her other fingers have slowly angled sideways and she's crippled with arthritis now...used to crack those too.

sometimes my fingers get stiff and I have to crack...otherwise no...

I came across a short article today about how knuckle cracking has been shown in 1 or 2 studies to decrease grip strength because it elongates the tendons. So I Googled and found some articles. Here's a short one: http://www.hopkins-arthritis.org/arthri ... ritis.html
